luck - n.
- The chance happening of fortunate or adverse events; fortune:
- Good fortune or prosperity; success
- One’s personal fate or lot
If luck can be good or bad, why does lucky imply that you continually have good luck?
This was my thought last night as I picked up a bazillioncrystals from my office floor. Why? Well, watching Sell This House has motivated me to get back to work on the house. And off course there is the unbelievable desire to no longer be a home owner so that my free time might truly be free and I can spend it knitting, reading or making wine glass charms.
So last night, I was painting the office a lovely off white color that will make any potential buyer strongly desire to live there, when several bead containers (which I paid extra for because they have locking lids and are NOT supposed to spill) got knocked off the table and Swarovski crystals went EVERYWHERE. Bad luck? No. A small misfortune? Yes. But it had me thinking about my continual bad luck that has made several friends declare I have the “worst luck of anyone” which led to thinking about luck in general. My luck isn’t terrible, its just often bad. I used to have good luck, I wonder if I used it all up?
ps. yes that means there will be more house pics soon but for now checkout what’s already completed.

You worry too much, your luck isn’t that bad.

I love what Penn Gillet said about luck, “Luck is nothing more than statistics taken personally.”
Its just that we often remember the bad luck more often than the good luck, or that when the good luck comes around, we’re not prepared to take advantage of the opprotunity.

Doesn’t sound like bad luck. Sounds like you are a klutz. Welcome to the club!
Now, sell your house, woman!
