Five things I’ve never revealed on my blog? I’m not very good at keeping secrets so I don’t there is much you all don’t know about me.
- My undergraduate degree was in History. I was accepted to a good graduate program, but deferred my enrollment for a year to move to AZ with a boyfriend so he could go to school (ah young love
). The plan was after a year we’d move again so I could finish school. We barely made it 6 months and I didn’t go back to school for History. I eventually got my Masters in Library Science and I think it all worked out for the best. - I drive a stick. When I bought my Saturn it was one of the features I insisted on. If someone else can’t drive a manual I tend to judge them for it. Yes, I know I’m superficial.
- I read fast and a lot. Until a couple of years ago I assumed everyone else did too and that people just didn’t’ talk about it. Yes I know this is weird, but I did. Then I realized that assumption is completely off. Nate is the only friend I’ve ever had who reads more than me, sometimes it annoys me. Yes, I’m a snob
- I was a vegetarian for about 2 years. Moving back to the Midwest made it really really hard. I guess I lack conviction because I gave up and now I eat meat.
- I’ve never been to Italy, but I really want to go. I have a LOT of books about it. It’s almost embarrassing and it’s getting to the point where I think I might be disappointed when I do go.
Well, I hope you’re not completely put off by my dirty little secrets. Now for who I’m tagging, Tab, Robin (aka Webgoddess), Bevvy, Shannon, and Robin from Yarn Crawl – You’re it!

Interesting 5 things. I find the reading one rather enlightening. Apparently we are more similar than we think! I read voraciously. My library is HUGE. We’re talking one wall in the bedroom covered in shelves, part of a second wall and overflow into the spare toom. Not counting my paperbacks downstairs in the hallway…Italy is a wonderful place to go. If you haven’t a clue where to start, try one of thaose bus tours. They hit all the high points and you can go back later and check out what you really like!
Hey – I’ll tell you what. There is NO way you’ll be disappointed by Italy. I don’t care how much you build it up in your mind. It will deliver, I promise. Man, I miss it.
I’m with you on the reading. I collect books, so my house is overrun, and my husband is constantly asking if I remember anything I read because I blow through books so quickly. I didn’t know this was weird either.
you mean there are people besides my step daughter who don’t read a lot? really? how sad for them.
And I share the stick thing with you. I don’t have one… but only b/c they do not make a minivan w/ sticks. Evidently, mommies woudln’t be able to handle both shifting gears and unruly kids in the back simultaneously. GRRRR. I can’t wait until I’m out of the minivan stage so I can go back to stick! I want my kids to learn first w/ a stick… but … (sigh).

You mean not all people read a lot? How weird!
I don’t read super-fast, but I do love books. I probably read about three books a week.
I just realized I had been tagged! Thanks for the reminder. I’ll get my 5 things post started. I completely understand #3! ANd you need to get yourself to Italy – it is a beautiful place!
Just happened by your blog and
it made me smile!
