I have to say I’ve been going to the gym regularly for the last month, except for the gap last week caused by the blisters and I haven’t lost a fricking pound! Although I did notice this morning when I was riding my bike to the coffee shop that it felt less like I was gonna die
I saw The Happening this weekend, M. Night Shyamalan’s new movie, and just to add to the creepiness I was the ONLY person in the theater! I really thought they should have come out and handed me a giant remote so I could turn the temperature up and pause it when I had to run to the Ladies room. No such thing happened though. I did love the movie!
But something even scarier happened yesterday, I layed out my Dollar and a Half cardi to measure and noticed something. Do you see it?
The bottom 3 sets of cables seem to have more space, like and extra 2 rows in them. Now I know I’ve been following the same pattern. Did my guage tighten? Later when I get home and find the patience I’ll actually count rows. grrrrr!

OHH I don’t think I could see that movie!
I hope all works out with your cardi!

Wow! You made it through the movie and you were the only one there. Man!
I’d keep going. After blocking and while wearing it, no one (including you) will ever notice. LOL Hope everything works out!

I see it. It also looks like it’s pulling in at the sides where the cables are more squat. That’d drive me crazy, even if it were on the back. If it were me, I’d frog it, but I’m probably not the best person to be giving that advice.
I’ve been working on this simple cabled shell for more than a year, because every time I get to the point where I think I should cable, I second guess myself. It’s harder to tell on my wretched project because it’s heavily variegated ribbon yarn and I’m knitting in the round. I’m pretty sure every cable is a different height at this point. And yet I won’t frog it, because its taken me so long to get even those eight inches done.

Alone in the theater for that movie…..freaky. Remember the time in DM when they forgot to start our movie since we were the only two in it? Totally missing the knitting issue but hope it works out. Showed off my b-day present at work, total jealousy abounded through out the department. Feeling the weight thing. Started working out harder gained 4 pounds. What’s that muscle weighs more than fat stuff? Change your diet for a few days, more protein and fruit and it will start to drop again. Good luck with Hanz kicking your a**.

Sometimes the weight loss takes a little while. Hang in there! For what it’s worth, I didn’t notice the difference in the cables until you pointed it out and then it took me a minute. You may be OK…

I didn’t see the difference in the cables until you pointed it out either. it will be interested in seeing what you come up with when you count the rows.
Keep up with the exercise! The results will come.

I’m sure your body composition has changed to be more muscle so you’ll probably see a difference on the scale soon. I totally didn’t notice anything on your sweater pic.

I didnt see either, as Shannon said, until you mentioned it..it is a nice pattern.. good luck finishing!

I hear ya on the gym thing. I’m frustrated myself.
I didn’t see the cable thing until you spelled it out for me. Did you change needles sizes perhaps one day? I know that sounds nuts, but if this was on hold for awhile, maybe you needed the needles for another project and forgot to return them to it? I speak from experience here. I did that a few years ago and wanted to strangle myself for not noting it or leaving a post-it where I could see it. Of course, I have triples of my needles now because of that fiasco. Quite honestly, the cable sizes are not that noticeable from here. Good luck!

The best thing I ever did was purchase a scale that also told me my body fat composition. After 3 weeks of working out, my weight actually went up a few pounds, but my body fat percentage went down a few points. Regardless of what my weight # is, I’m really focused on the fat percentage number since that’s really what I want to lose … fat!

Three years ago I was working out 5 times a week, three times with a personal trainer for a whole year, before that I went to the gym for a year alone, no trainer. The second year I lost 10lbs (I should loose about 100lbs). My trainer couldn’t believe it, and he said I must eat a lot, but I did NOT. Sure I gained muscle, but not loose those freaking fat pounds was depressive. After that, I quit the gym.
Now I’m on a diet again, since June 2, first time in many years. I didn’t use a scale, but measured my bust and belly for a sweater I wanted to knit. I’ve lost 1″ on my belly after one week, and I can feel and see that my clothe are getting wider. That’s wonderful. I’ve never done a diet that successful. It’s just cutting out carbs, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes. I still eat beans, and bananas etc. And I’m never hungry. I eat 4 times a day, with 4 hours in between, and I walk the dogs and work in the garden, but nothing strenuous.

Screw the scale. Take measurments and see how the inches are going. Or try on somethinng that was/is tight and see how the fit is now compared to before. Changing up your diet and workout routine is probably a good idea too. The human body is really adaptable. Try throwing in some interval training. That can really shake things loose.

Yeah! Don’t look at the stupid scale! Measurements are the way to go…and how comfortable you feel.
Wouldn’t personalized movie theaters be awesome! And someone should have come by to see if you wanted more popcorn or soda.
I’m horrible with cables. I lose track of where I was and twist before I should. It’s not really noticable.

I think no one will notice the cable differences. I say press on!

I agree with most everyone else – the scale isn’t always a true measure. Sometimes when you start working out the weight loss isn’t always apparent because fat is being replaced by muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. At this point, I would go be inches lost. Good for you for hanging in there!
I couldn’t see the problem with the Cardi until you pointed it out also. If it were me, and I am almost a perfectionist when it comes to knitting, I would keep going. Chances are it will even out with blocking and if you tightened your gauge you may have the same problem again if you frog it. I do the same thing except my gauge gets looser as I get further into a garment. I hate it!
