Blue Moon, Baby

Oh yeah, my first ever Blue Moon yarn. This gorgeous assortment of yarn was a gift from a new friend. This might actually be my best Christmas gift ever. As soon as I opened the box and I knew what it was and I was giddy. Really, like a 16 year old that just got asked to prom. I carried this around with me all day, practically jumping up and down.

From left to right, Seduction in Froggin’, Socks that Rock lightweight in Ms. LaRock, Socks that Rock medium weight in Jade, Socks that Rock lightweight in Grawk, and Silkmo in Jade. They all have some green in them and they are freaking stunning. Now don’t be getting all excited about the Sock Yarn, I will not be knitting socks with that. I haven’t decided what to do with all of it, but I do have some patterns picked out. In fact Seduction has already been wound and cast on for the Vixen Camisole from Sensual Knits. I love that book by the way I even started the Flickr group, I don’t think I’ll host any more KAL’s so Flickr groups seems the way to go.

Stitchionary

A couple of weekends ago I was in B&N picking up a book for my secret pal when I noticed they had rearranged the knitting book section and now there was a table with sale items on it. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. I managed to restrain myself to just 2 books. Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Volume One: Knit & Purl and The Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Volume Two: Cables, I love them. Oh I have other stitch dictionaries and one of those pattern a day calenders. I’ve been wanting these since I realized the samples were knit in similar colors because sometimes I wonder if I like a pattern in my stitch dictionary because of the pattern it’s self or because of the color. Yes I really do have this problem and I constantly wish they were all the same color. (someone else admit they have this problem too, so I don’t feel like such a weirdo). The patterns are all charted and written and the books are just really well written. Plus the best part, I got them fro 50% off plus my B&N discount. Yeah it’s not yarn but it’s not bad :)

When the going gets tough

the tough go shopping! Yes! They. Do. I had to go to Barnes and Noble to purchase gifts but while I was there I picked up a little some for me! Retail therapy almost always works. They were things are my “to buy” list anyway.

No news is good news – I haven’t heard or seen from creepy guy and I’m considering that good news. I haven’t felt much like reading or knitting hopefully next week will be better.

First up, the new book by Jen Lancaster ( Bitter is the New Black) I’ve only just started Bright Lights, Big Ass, but I love it.

Also with a coupon and my B&N discount I also picked up Victorian Lace Today love it! I can’t really focus enough to read but just looking at the pictures makes me happy. So many patterns! So many pretty things! I can’t decide what to make first, something simple as I’m just aspiring to lace knitting. You know I thought I was a project knitter but since both Wicked and the Drop Stitch Lace Tank are waiting for some finishing touches before wearing and in my head I already consider them done, I think I might be a process knitter! eeek!
