Oscar update

Oscar’s been on his meds for a couple of weeks now, we went back in for a check up last week and so far so good.  We go back in 2 weeks and depending on those test results may have to up his meds.  I’m hope against that as it may mean dealing with symptoms he doesn’t have right now.

He’s thrilled to get a spoonful of canned dog food in the morning (with his pill) and he seems to be feeling just fine, tonight he compley destroyed a new toy! I gave it to him, went in the other room, came back out 10 min later and there was stuffing everywhere and the little monkey was no more! ;-)

Thank you again!

Yarn for Sale

I’m looking to sale some of my stash.  If you’d like the why, read on if you just want the yarn jump ahead.

This is the short version of a very long emotional story.  A couple of weeks ago I discovered a lump on Oscar, I took him to the vet and they did some tests.  A week later we got the results that the tumor is benign, but it still needed to be removed, due to location and size.  We made an appointment with the University Vet, where my vet refered us.  During the course of Oscars pre-surgery tests it was discovered he has Cushings Disease.  Basically his body produces too much steroid.  He needs to be medicated for the rest of his life.  Because I love my guys like my kids, not treating him is not an option for me.  Unfortunately treatment is very expensive and I’ve already spent over $1,000 on tests in the last couple of weeks.  That means I am scrambling to come up with some money.  So, I went through my stash and picked some things to part with.  There might be more later.

I’ve also reopend my wine charm shop on etsy. I don’t have the supplies or the time to make the charms any more but I do have  shoe box full of charms just sitting around,  so I’ll be listing those and all the money from the sales will go to Oscars vet bills.  So if you every wanted any wine charms now might be the time.

Yarn for sale – all of these are also listed in Ravelry – if you’re interested in any of these please email me at rogue2408 AT gmail DOT com
