Yarn
Well I’m supposed to be on a yarn diet, but my LYS was having a sale this weekend and I needed some yarn for Christmas knitting. I, uh, somehow ended up with more.
This is Ella Rae Lace Merino, its destined to be Jeanie. Its a bit lighter weight than the smooshy the pattern calls for, I love the colors, and I think I can make it work
This is Baby Twist, I don’t have a plan for it, but it was so soft and beautiful, it was calling me name.
This is Frog Tree Alpaca worsted, destined to be a Christmas gift.
There was some frogging around here this weekend too. I frogged several projects that have been languishing on the needles for ages. I actually have several more that need to be frogged.
All the frogging and I recovered some needles that I’d forgotten I had. Nice.
I also picked up a new pair of Bryspun circs. I think these are going to be my go to for Circs from now on. I’ve really liked the Bryspun forever, but the KnitPicks Harmony were swaying me over. That is until I accidently stepped on a set and broke them. Not a happy camper. Althought I might get them as an additional set of the Options.

True Confessions
First I have no idea what kind of flower this is. It was on a vine in what appeared to be a vegetable garden. Any ideas?
Second, I finally got the nerve to face the Modified 1.50 Cardi. I discovered the bottom 3 cable do indeed have 2 more rows in them. Now I have been follwoing the pattern the whole time, BUT I had photocopied it, to make notes one for my modifications and that is where I was keeping track of the rows. Well I lost it, yeah I have no idea where, I looked at home, at work nad in the car, it hasn’t been anywhere else. So I made a new copy and went forward, I’m pretty sure this is when the change happened. Frick. So what to do? Do I frog, lets face it that lace is gonna be a bitch to frog and pick back up, or do I move forward?

We Interupt this Weekend
I’ve got to confess to you guys about something. I don’t spend a lot of time reading the Rav Forums, or the Knittyboard. When I do have some time I like to read blogs. I used to feel guilty about this, that I wasn’t spending enough time being part of the community, but I do read a lot of blogs and that’s part of the community too right? Well after reading some recent posts about the judginess going on in those place I am completely absolved of my guilt. That’s right, if that’s what’s doing down in those forums I’m glad I don’t hang out there.
I love Ravelry because it lets me organize my knitting, my projects, my stash, my queue, and that it allows me to oh so easily see what others have made with that yarn or how that sweater looks and 50 different bodies rather than the carefully posed model so I can see how it looks on me. See the theme here? I use Ravely for ME. It is about me. There is nothing wrong with that.
So if there are some people who think that my stash is about bragging rather than the damn fine organizational options of Rav, or that Yarn Pr0n Fridays is showing off instead of appreciation of some serious fiber goodness, or that my schedule of Wordless Wednesday and YPF are bad, well, frankly those people can piss off. I’ve seem some of the nicest bloggers I know fretting about this, and I seriously annoys me that these, super nice, friendly generous people are letting trolls get to them this way.
So I’m making a statement here on my blog to those people (not to you, dear readers, I know you guys are awesome!), cuz I guess I’m just not as nice as the bloggers that are worrying about it. I love YPF! Viva la Pr0n. If you can’t appreciate the yarn and instead get all bitter that I have it, go away. I don’t want you here anyway. If you think my Rav stash or anyone else’s is showing off, instead of using the fabulous tools that Rav provides, don’t be my friend. I don’t what your judgy, angry vibes anywhere my knitting anyway. I blog on a schedule cuz it works for me, do it your way on your blog, and I’ll do it mine on mine. Seriously. I don’t want pissy, bitter judgmental people reading my blog anyway. If I met them in person I probably wouldn’t like them and I don’t want people I don’t like reading my blog and being my blog friends. So there. I just can’t understand why people would complain about all of this so much in a public place. Just don’t read the blog and seriously don’t they have better things to do with their time, like knitting?
To my beloved readers, I know you’re not “those” people so here’s something nice for you! I cast on for two more projects. And yes, I am bragging, lace is hard, hell, so is knitting, we should all brag about it!

Cloverfield, Book meme & The Diet
I’m a big J.J Abrams (Alias, Lost etc) fan, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of Cloverfield. The teasers didn’t tell us much, so I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I went. I usually don’t go see movies on opening weekend but I was worried that someone would ruin it for me, so last night I headed to the theatre. I loved it! Go see it!
I also enjoyed I Am Legend a couple of weeks ago. Both scary movies but not too scary for me. Although I Am Legend added to my zombie nightmares. I’ve been having them pretty regularly since reading The Cell by Stephen King in October.
Laurie tagged me with a book meme. I have to open the book I am currently reading to page 161 and read the 5th sentence, and then tag 5 people…
“And I said, you are quite right, my dear. My son may have other children, who knows, he is still young”
I haven’t actually started this book yet. But I’m going to today. If you’re reading this consider yourself tagged!
I have a confession to make. I think my stash might be too big. I know, I know some of you think that a stash could never be to big. But I noticed I can’t seem to keep track of it all. I mean there is some gorgeous yarn in there that I’ve forgotten I have, that doesn’t seem right. Plus it doesn’t all fit in the new yarn room and noticed on Ravelry it says I have 85 yarns stashed and I know they aren’t all even in there.
Off the top of my head I have the yarn for these projects
- Cozy V Neck Pullover
- Lace Cardigan
- Ariann
- Shrug for Mentionable
- Myrtle Leaf Shawl
- Central Park Hoodie
- Juno Regina
- A couple of things from Victorian Lace Today that I haven’t decided on yet.
- Lots of hats
Plus what’s on the needles (Hemlock Ring Blanket, Tree Jacket, Lace Tank, Melon Pattern Shawl, Clapotis 2, New Friend Shrug) and all the yarn I haven’t picked a project for yet. So the plan is 6 months. No new yarn for 6 months. It’s totally reasonable, hopefully I’ll be moving – less stuff to move. I’m planning a big trip – need money for that. I have enough yarn to knit projects for at least 6 months. I can do this. I can do this right? RIGHT?
