  • Weaving in: March 24th
  • Needles: Bryspun size 5 & 7 circs, bamboo dpn 7s
  • Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk – maybe not the best yarn, it’s a bit heavy but I love the FO,

Central Park Non Hoodie

Hoodless Central Park Hoodie 05

Stats:

  • Pattern: Central Park Hoodie
  • Cast on: January 2008
  • Weaving in: March 14, 2008
  • Needles: Knitpicks Options sizes 6 & 8
  • Yarn: Cascade 220
  • Modifications – none except swapping the hood for a collar. I knit the front bands first, then picked up the stitches for the collar. I was a little generous with picking them up because I knew I wanted the collar to fold over. My notes say I picked up 108 stitches, 10 from each band, knit the 10 on holders from the front, picked up 15 along the front necklines. I know the ribbing is knit 2 on both ends so I think that’s right.

  • This is hands down my favorite of all my knits! I love the cables, the design, the fit, the buttons I picked the collar, you name it! )

Tree Jacket

Tree Jacket 03

  • Pattern: Tree Jacket
  • Cast on: October 2007
  • Weaving in: January 23rd, 2008
  • Needles: size 8
  • Yarn: Peruvia from Berroco
  • Modifications – I knew the yarn was to itchy for me to have it on my neck so I skipped the cowl neck and just worked a couple of repeats of the lace pattern before starting the garter stitch. I worked the garter stitch section down past the bustline. I worked the sleeves in the lace pattern and stockinette.

Vixen Camisole

Vixen Camisole 07

  • Pattern: Vixen Camisole from Sensual Knits
  • Cast on:January 5th 2008
  • Weaving in: January 17th, 2008
  • Needles: size 6 * 10 needles
  • Yarn: Seduction and Leticia from Blue Moon Fiber Arts
  • Blog Posts
  • Modifications – a lot! since the Seduction is a little heavier than the Yarntini the pattern calls for an I can be a tight knitter I used size 6 needles for the body. I wanted to used Leticia for the top since it matches but it was way too bulky. After my first attempt I ripped back to the first knit row where I had dropped the stitches. I decreased by 12 evenly all the way around. Then did the 2×2 ribbing on size 10 needles. I only did an inch because I didn’t want it to be too heavy. This is a perfect example of making a pattern and yarn work for you.
  • Love it!
