1 ) You Don’t Know Our Women Hat

I knit most of it while watching 300, so in honor of the movie I named in the “You Don’t Know Our Women Hat” If you haven’t seen the movie it’s full of badassness, lots of near naked men kicking butt and the women, while not a big part of the movie, are given their due. They are at war and the King is talking to his enemy and they have this exchange
Xerxes: Consider the fate of your women.
Spartan King Leonidas: Clearly you don’t know our women! I might as well have marched them up here judging by what I’ve seen.
Granted no one in the movie would would wear a knitted hat as they are too busy running about half dressed and being bad ass. But if they were in danger of freezing to death and HAD to wear a hat, this would be it. It’s plenty bad ass.
2.) Chicabean Hat

Initially I worked out the pattern for this hat so it would matched a scarf I made for my sister. Little did I realize how much I’d love the hat! I really love the combination of the cables and lace and how the decreases worked out.Even with writing and working out the pattern this only took me two days. I think I’ll make myself one in red. I like that it’s warm but not too warm and I think it will look as good in cotton as wool.
3.) Chicabean Scarf

The scarf actually came before the hat. But I wrote the pattern after writing the hat pattern. I designed this as gift for my sister, Chicabean. Cables and lace wow! I want to do more of this combo! It will be warm without being dense. Plus the pattern was interesting enough to keep my attention, but easy enough to memorize. Eventually I’ll make one for myself!

Oh , I found your site through another link and am in love with the scarf and hat! I thought I was done making scarves – maybe not!
BTW – love what you did with the Tree Sweater – great changes!

Oh my dear, what a lovely hat n’ scarf!!! They are so beautiful, thank you so much for publishing the patterns. I live in the Arizona desert and haven’t much use for “warmies”, but i’m gonna make them any way. I may make the scarf a wee bit long and tie it around my waist. Thank you again for the patterns.
