Well I made it back! We left early yesterday morning and Kevin drove the whole way again. But thanks to traffic and road construction it took almost an extra two hours! Here are some pictures and highlights from the trip. I posted more on my flickr account so take a look!
Breckenridge Brewery had a breathrealizer machine and we were sat right next to it! For 50 cents you could blow through a straw and find out your intoxication level, so of course we had to! Imagine our surprise that when we got there, after having two beers each I blow at .03, Kevin a .08 and Brandy a .11, hmmmm, I think that somethings wrong with it! Turns out both you're supposed to wait 5 minutes after your last drink and Brandy and Kevin had both take a sip of their beer before the test. (See the proof and more pics at flickr)
Kevin didn't want his picture taken on the way out.
He finally agreed to let me take it.
With dire consequences!
Ok not really, we're just dorks! 🙂
Me with the Tripel Sixes beer from the Wynkoop. Brewed special for 6/6/06. A great beer, but I limited myself to one because of the ABV 9.4%.
Our loot from the Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey distillery. A bottle of the whiskey, thanks to my sister and Sean – You guys rock! Two tumblers and two t-shirts.
The baseball game was very cool. It was exciting and the Rockies won!
Our last night there we headed down to Hemmingways, a bar with a very cool patio area for happy hour before heading to the Sushi Den. The Sushi Den was awesome! The service was great and the food was amazing!
Both the Sushi Den and Hemmingways were in old residential areas with just a couple blocks of small businesses thrown in. It was as cool as being downtown. Of course both areas are highly desirable and no public librarians could afford live anywhere near there! Nathan I took this picture of a coffee shop for you, it was directly across the street from the Sushi Den.
Of course lots happened that I don't have pictures for. The trip was wonderful and I'm sad to be back. Big thanks to Brandy and Sean for putting up with us for 4 days and driving us around town.
