I almost lost an eye last night! I was at the movie with Nathan and I went to whisper something to him and somehow poked myself in the eye. It hurt. But I couldn’t stop laughing. I mean, it’s my hand and my face, you would think I would know where those are at and be able to keep any crazy hand movements away from my eye! Apparently not. Plus how is that for movie karma? We talk during the movie, I know it’s bad and people hate us, but in all fairness I get there early and I really don’t want anyone sitting near me. So if you violate my space you have to listen to me whisper to my friend how this moment in the movie ties into the book I’m reading. Yeah I know, people hate us and it would have brought someone a lot of joy if I’d lost an eye. Fortunately for me, the eye is intact.
I liked The Holiday, however, at 2 hours and 18 minutes it’s a little long. I mean come on, this a feel good holiday movie, I think we all have a pretty good idea of how it’s gonna end. The setup was long, really long, way too long, they could have edited 30 or 45 minutes from the beginning of the movie and we would have missed little. Plus it probably would have made me like it more and maybe cut down on my talking and perhaps completely avoided the eye injury all together. If you wanna see a long, feel-good, holiday movie, with no surprises go see in the theatre otherwise wait until can you rent it on DVD. But it is definitely rent worthy.
Nathan took this picture of me at Red Lobster before the show. He’s always disgusted by the Lobesterita, it’s bigger than my face. I know he hopes I’ll get my face stuck in it somehow so he can use the straw to drink the margarita from around my face while tomenting me that he’s saving my life by keeping me from drowning. I don’t know why he wouldn’t just help me get my face out of the margarita. Also, this is a terrible picture of me. Nathan is getting a camera for xmas and I can see that we’re gonna have to talk about “acceptable” angles for photos, the up-the-nose, showing-my -double-chin one is not working for me!
