Not really, actually the snow is melting! Joy! Yesterday I drove to a nearby, larger town for the last of my Christmas shopping. I’m making a number of things as gifts this year so Joanns and Michaels were among my stops. I have to tell you, the Joanns around here suck. When lived in Tucson Michaels built a huge store across from the Joanns, Joanns retaliated by building a HUGE Joanns just behind the old one. They were constantly competing for my love and attention. It was wonderful. Super Joanns had a lot of the same crafty stuff as Michales and was probably the only Joanns I’ve ever been in that wasn’t stuck in the 70s and didn’t look like no one had cleaned it since then. But I got what I needed, and a little something for me. See that fabric? It’s fleece with silver embroidery and sequins and I love it! I used it and the orange fleece underneath to make one of those no-sew fleece blankets for myself. It’s snugly warm and makes me happy.
I also got one other thing for myself at Michaels. This tote, it’s supposed to be for scrap-booking supplies, but that’s something I never got into so when I saw it I immediately thought – knitting! I love the colors and all the pockets! I have Bagsmith and I like that too, but this, this I love. I went back and forth about buying it, but it was on sale, so how could I possibly pass that up? I took it home and organized all my knitting accessories in it! It also holds my binder for my circulars (not pictured) Knitters companion and a stitch a day calender. Plus, crochet hooks, cable needles, stitch holders, needle sizer thingy, point protectors, stitch markers, needles, counter, measuring tapes and more!
Look at all those pockets! How could you not love it! I don’t think you can even see how many there are in the pictures.
My only complaint – there is a zippered area underneath with a very cute tray in it. Except the tray is a little too big for the opening, so using it work eventually break it. This also means that the bottom isn’t completely firm. Oh well. I probably will find something hard to put in there and just take the cut little tray out.
