Ok, I’m getting ready to tell you something not even my best friends know yet. For 3 years now Lost has been my favorite TV show. For the first two seasons I would get on line after every episode and search for meaning, like a LOT of other fans. What did The Numbers mean? What is The Monster? Now in the third season, I just don’thave that need, that drive to search the net for hours. Dont’ get me wrong, I still love it, I’m never going to stop watching, but the honeymoon is over. Frankly, I’m a little sad. The good news, two other shows have crept into my heart.
I’m really digging Heroes. Save the cheerleader save the world! I really like the mystery of this show, it’s a little like Lost when it first started, but not as extreme.
But the real apple of my eye right now is Rome. I know, I know when I didn’t have HBO and people talked about HBO shows it was annoying and HBO and I have a shaky relationship at best, after all look what they did to Carnivale and Deadwood. But I’m will to take the risk for Rome. HBO teamed up with the BBC to produce it and it’s shot in Italy. They could have easily created a show about Cesar, Marc Antony and Cleopatra, but they took a different angle. In addition to the characters you’d expect in a show about this time period we know, and love to hate, Octavain’s mother, Atia. We also see events unfold for two Roman soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo. I know some of my guy friends think the ladies only watch the show for the machismo and these two would definitely be an example of that. Maybe I do watch for that, but I know I also watch because Pullo is one of my favorite characters. He’s not perfect, he’s made some pretty big mistakes, but he’s incredibly loyal to Vorenus, even when Vorenus doesn’t deserve it. I may not agree with his values, but he knows what they are and he lives by them. Go rent season one if you haven’t seen it .
I know what you’re thinking – I thought this was a knitting blog or at least a part time knitting blog, where the heck is the knitting? Why is this chic writing about her TV show? Well there hasn’t been much knitting for a number of reasons that I’m not going to get into right now and I like my tv shows! 🙂
