IMG_5833Tuesday was a snow day and I put it to good use. Although I’d really like another! In the morning I read blogs, with a little help. For some reason this guy did not want to be far from me at all, and I spent most of the time trying to type around him. So anyone who had typos in their comments from me on Tuesday you can blame Oscar. 🙂

Then downstairs to my treadmill for a good workout.

After that I pretty much parked my butt on the sofa, watched the last season of Six Feet Under and knit. I didn’t watch it while it was on, but I really liked catching up with it. I have to be honest though, I think if I’d been watching while it aired I might have quit, that mother is a harpy and a whiner on top of it, I really hated her by the end.

Because I can’t deal with Wicked right now I pulled the Laceleaf Pullover back out and worked on it. But alas it seems I’ve angered the knitting gods and there will be frogging on this too. Oh yes, the gods are angry, I knit about 5 inches and I will be ripping back to the arm hole joins. Other than that it’s coming along great. I’m not as sad about this as I was about Wicked, maybe because on size 11 needles LLP goes faster. I already have the bottom half knitted and waiting. But I’m thinking I’m going to just continue knitting down and do the bottom lace leaf pattern upside down. I don’t’ think that will bother me and from what I have read everyone who has grafted the two pieces felt like it was noticeable and I dont’ want that.

IMG_5841Simon was much less interested in me, other than to question what I was doing home on a Tuesday and making so much noise that I was keeping him up, he ignored me. He loves this red chair and sits on it like a prince on his throne. brat.

Circular Needle Sale

In other news, my Knitpicks Options set is here and I’m really liking it so I’ve decided to get rid of most of my circular needles to make room for more yarn! Rather than sell them on ebay, I thought I’d offer them to my readers first. I’ve created this page for the needles, all sets are on a first come first serve basis, please email me the sets you’d like and I’ll send you a Paypal invoice for the total. Email address and details are on the Needle Sale page.

People yield to gluttony when the organism doesn’t respond to nourishment with a sense of satiety, and to lust when sex is so unsatisfying that we want ever more of it. Anger is unbridled aggressiveness, sloth a pleasant relaxation that knows no end.

Your job? Leave a comment on what book you think it’s from. Hint it’s under “reading” on the side bar. Who I’m tagging: Sheepish Annie, Tab, and Carol. I thought about tagging Turtlegirl since this isn’t a meme and she wouldn’t be able to use her meme card. 🙂 But she’s off the hook this time.

Laceleaf pullover

Work continues on the Lace Leaf Pullover from Loop-d-Loop. I’m so stressed about this sweater, I’m almost not talking about it. This is my first sweater and for some reason I thought I could just substitute a yarn with which I didn’tget gauge, which requires math, lots of math. Don’t get me wrong, I’m good at math, I just haven’t done this before and it’s become apparent there are things I didn’t consider. I frogged the top half twice, but I think this time is the charm. I just got done adding short rows, which is an addition to the pattern, but definitely needed, I think that went well. Ahhh! I also have the yarn for Wicked. I should have done that first, no substitute yarn, no math, no worrying. Part of the reason I didn’t is I don’t have the needles yet, because although I bought them on ebay, I forgot to pay for them. I’ve rectified that and they should be here soon. I am tempted, so tempted to ditch LLP and start Wicked when they get here!

We’re having an ice storm this weekend, it started yesterday and looks like to continue into Sunday evening. I hate being stuck at home. It’s not like I have a LOT of places I want to go, I just want to be able to go where I want when I want to. Yes, I know I’m displaying a Veruca Salt attitude about this, but I can’t help it! After living in AZ for 5 years, I’m used to being able to travel where and when I want within reason. I wanted to be at a friends drinking wine last night and I want to be able to go to a coffee shop tomorrow. Okay, bitching over, here’ s a nice pic of the ice to make up for it.

Luckily the needles I needed for the Laceleaf Pullover arrived yesterday so I’ve been able to get a lot done on it. I know from reading other blogs about this that the difficulty will be when I graft the two sections together. I started last night and look how far I’ve gotten. Of course I’m using size 11 needles, part of the reason I chose this for my first sweater. I was worried I’d get bored before I got done.

Proof that I am working on my second sock!
