First I went through all my tubs and bins and reorganized. While I was at it, I took the advice of SuzannaBanana and cataloged everything in my stash. There are some novelty yarns not included, but it’s in its own bin and it’s not something I buy more of any more. I took a screen shot of my Ravelry stash you can click on it to see it bigger, but there are 107 yarns in there.
I think one of my biggest problems is buying yarn without knowing what I’ll do with it. I’m definitely going to stop doing that. Sales are great, but from now on I’ll have to have a project in mind before buying. I think I see new projects in magazines on Ravelry or blogs and just want to knit it immediately. But I have great projects in my queue. I have a problem in all areas of my life with instant gratification and lack of patience. This will probably be good for me on a lot of levels. LOL
While organizing i came across the Dollar and a Half Cardi, remember when I started that? It fell by the way side, which is probably for the best, I’m a much better knitter now and I’ve seamed a couple of things. I picked it back, frogged what I’d started and with some modifications cast back on, more on that later this week.
Tani suggested we go on a yarn diet together, I think it’s a great idea! You always here diets are more successful with support. I tried joining a Ravelry group, but can’t get in to it. I don’t want to give away yarn if I don’t meet goals. I just want to use the gorgeous yarn I have for projects I’ve been wanting to knit. Any suggestions for a group? Should we start our own group? or blog?
