Ok I’m not sure how back and please don’t lick me to check on the flavor.  I’ve been playing with the idea of blogging again for a while.  I freaking miss it and I miss all my knitting and blogging peeps! When I surrendered to the overload in January I had my day job, was teaching a class at the university and was prepping to teach some workshops. There just was no spare time.  But all that’s over and I took a new job and I moved to Georgia! Georgia! I’ve been here about 2 months and its seems like a good time to reclaim my life.  I still don’t have a lot of time to knit so I’m not sure how much of that you’ll see.

So what have I been up to?  Let’s see.

The new apartment has super low window sills so Simon can keep watching for invading hordes really easily.

Fretting about Oscar – we had to change his meds again and he goes in for a check up next week to see if the new dosage is working. Cross fingers and toes please.

Chilling at the pool – only in the early morning or late evening I’m far too pale for most of the day.

Checking out local attractions – Butterfly gardens! hurray endless photo possibilities

Speaking of photos – I got a new camera! I finally made the leap to an SLR. I’ve signed up for classes at the university but wont start till September. In the meantime I’ll probably be shooting mostly in auto mode.

Nice! The move is complete! Now I just have to unpack! I had no idea I had so much freaking stuff! Dang. Plus I know I sold, threw away or gave away a LOT. I have way too much craft stuff. Really, it wont fit into the Stash (yarn room). It’s ridiculous! I’m hoping I’ll use up some of it, but in the mean time I have to find a place for it all, it’s slow going. Some areas are looking nice.

Others, not so much. 😉

There has been no time for knitting. Since distracting you with a video worked so well last time…. Look! Over there! It’s a hottie! 😉

A Hard Day’s Night

Yarn I found in a closetI spent the weekend packing and cleaning. There was a time when I moved everything I owned in my car, actually it was like that for years. It’s only in the last 4 that I’ve acquired so much stuff. Having a huge house didn’t help. When I moved in there were whole rooms that were empty, now they are all full. Honestly I don’t care for having so much stuff, it seems wasteful. For months now I’ve been selling things or taking them to Goodwill. I’m almost done! I found this box of yarn on the top shelf of one of the closets. It’s been there since I moved in almost 3 years ago! LOL

I’m moving right along on the Central Park Non Hoodie. I’m part way through one sleeve, and one button band is done!

I’ve alluded to this several times lately and everything is going smoothly so I’m sharing the details! In April I’ll be in Europe for about 3 weeks. I’ll be in London and Torquay in the UK and Pisa, Florence, Rome and Cinque Terre in Italy. I’ll be presenting at a conference, then taking some personal time to see the sights. I’m planning to pack as light as possible so no idea if I’ll take knitting yet. I’m so excited to be going. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy. I know a LOT of you have been, so please! Send tips, tricks and any helpful info. Grazie
