I think its gonna get froggedAfter languishing in my wip pile during the heat of Georgia summer and fall I finally picked the Seed Stitch Card back up.  Everything is done except the button bands and collar.  But I think its gonna get frogged.

At first I thought the problem was the yarn I subbed, the pattern calls for Pear Tree 8 ply 107 yards = 50 grams, I used Frog Tree Merino Melange 101 yds = 50 grams.

But no I think I either should have made a size smaller or that I would like it better with a lighter weight yarn (its dense) or its just the pattern. Thoughts?

Its too bulky/loose under the arms

I think its gonna get frogged

Its tragic really because it is a beautiful sweater and those cables are lovely.

I think its gonna get frogged

the yarn is beautiufl

I think its gonna get frogged
and I managed to successfully modify it for long sleeves

I think its gonna get frogged

I think part of the problem might be how much I still love my central park non-hoodie, in fact if this gets frogged that’s what the yarn will be.

Woohoo! I’m so happy with my first FO for me of 2008. The yarn, Seduction, was a gift and a perfect match for the Vixen Cami, which I had been dying to make since I got the book back in December. I love this, in fact I wore it to work on Friday under a cardigan and got a lot of compliments on it.

Modifications – a lot! since the Seduciton is a little heavier than the Yarntini the pattern calls for an I can be a tight knitter I used size 6 needles for the body. I wanted to use Leticia for the top since it matches but it was way too bulky. After my first attempt I ripped back to the first knit row where I had dropped the stitches. I decreased by 12 evenly all the way around. Then did the 2×2 ribbing on size 10 needles. I only did an inch because I didn’t want it to be too heavy. This is a perfect example of making a pattern and yarn work for you.

Is that it’s just too chunky. Damn. It would have been perfect. It’s really too heavy for the top of the Cami and the ribbing doesn’t stretch and collapse like ribbing is supposed to do. Which sucks because the colors look awesome. So, what to do?

I’m thinking this Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran I have in my stash will work. It was hard to get a picture of the purples together. It’s a little darker than the purples in the Seduction, but I think it’s complimentary. So I’ll be ripping back and knitting forth with this. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I’ve spent most of the weekend rewatching Season 3 of Lost. My copy came last week and the new season kicks off on the 31st. It will only be 8 episodes, but I am SO excited! Seriously have you see the teasers? And last year’s season finale!!!!! I can’t even begin to imagine where they are gong to to this year, but I can not wait!

All that TV watching gave me time to do this! This is the Vixen Cami right before I switched to larger needles, different yarn and, wait for it, dropped the stitches! Oh yeah! Very gratifying! It really wasn’t much to look at!

Now look at it! Beautiful! It’s blocking right now and I got to use my blocking wires for the first time! Thanks Mom and Dad! (they were an xmas present from them) I have enough Leticia left I think I’ll knit straps, so look for an FO in a few days!

I’ve had this book for well over a month and there are so many things I want to make, but I knew the Vixen Camisole would be the first one. When I got the Seduction for a gift it seemed like fate. Other than the pooling it wont be much to look at until I drop the stitches and block it. I’m going to use Leticia for the top part. The book uses Yartini sock weight and chunky and the designer used Claudia fingering and chunky for her original (isn’t Ravelry great? 🙂 ) I couldn’t find either. So far I think my subs will work.
